Trail Riding Holidays along the Pennine Bridleway in Cumbria, UK

horsesatwatercut.jpg

Stonetrail specialises in trail riding holidays in Cumbria close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park which includes the spectacular Pennine Bridleway, Englands latest national trail built specifically for horse and riders. Our trail riding holidays are a perfect choice for experienced riders and offer a sense of adventure as we journey across the Cumbrian fells and explore the lower valleys of the Yorkshire Dales.  This is an area which offers some of best off horsestrailride.jpgroad riding opportunities in the UK. Open fell tracks, green lanes, stunning sceney and free roaming fell ponies are what you can expect. The terrain is hilly yet easy to ride with lots of great  canters. We are known for our relaxed and friendly style and for riding in small groups ( usually no more than 6 customers ) as we know this ensures a great riding experience and a high standard of personal attention.  Rest and relaxation  at the end of each day is equally important and our routes include carefuly chosen Inns with warm fires and homecooked dinners.

Riding Ability

Long distance trail riding encounters a variety of terrains in open spaces and for this reason you need to be reasonably fit and capable of riding with confidence at all paces. However, we do not expect you to be an expert and we suggest that if you are unsure about your ability to call Alison for advice. We can tailor the route and pace to suit your ability and take care to avoid placing riders with different levels of ability and expectations on the same ride. For a small supplement we can limit the ride to just 4 riders if you would prefer an exclusive riding holiday arranged specifically for your group.

Unaccompanied Teenages

Unaccompanied teenagers are welcome to join us each day for our ride and can be brought back to Street Farm each night. Our cottages at Street Farm sleep between 2 and 8 persons and are a great choice for parents with horse mad teenagers.
