Daily Rides

Stonetrail is a small horse riding centre in Cumbria specialising in trail riding & pleasure hacks for experienced riders. We have an amazing selection of routes across open fells and hidden valleys with virtually no roadwork. Our day to day programme varies as we organise all our rides around each customer and this can include rides lasting from 2 hours to a full day. Our routes page provides an idea of our more popular routes and our gallery page has some great photos of us in action.

Our routes take us along the Pennine Bridleway & we have immediate fellside access to an excellent choice of routes through the Howgill fells. Our routes criss cross bridleways and ancient tracks to reach hidden valleys where wild ponies & red deer roam free. This is a horse riding at its best.

We are a small owner run riding centre offering a friendly, professional and relaxed riding experience. Using sturdy responsive cobs we ride in small groups ( max 6 customers ) and ask that all riders are "secure in the saddle at canter" to ensure the best riding experience for both riders and horses. We also offer horse riding holidays with onsite accommodation and trail riding breaks where we head off and stay in a B&B on route.

Local Riders

Please note we offer a discounted price for local riders who wish to ride on a regular basis. This is a great way to enjoy our local fells and meet fellow riders. You can join in on any of our rides and we organise social rides for regular riders throughout the year. For more details please visit our Regular Riders page.

Price Includes

The above prices include hire of riding hat and complimentary tea and cakes in our riders lounge at the end of your ride. The full day ride excludes the cost of lunch which can be taken as either a picnic top or a pub lunch.

How to Book

We are open throughout the year, weather permitting and organise our rides in response to customers requirements. We can advise you of rides which have already been booked which you may be able to join or we can arrange a date and time to suit you.
