Here is a selection of routes you can ride which start and end at Street Farm. We provide free route maps and you can also download the route direct to your gps handheld.
Head out across cote moor to join the A683 before very quickly turning left onto a quiet undulating lane known as "Fell End". After 2 miles turn left at the signpost for Uldale which after another 2 miles of easy cycling takes you down through a wooded track and across a foot bridge beside a cascade of small waterfalls known as Uldale force. Good place to stop a moment before heading right along a lonely 3 mile stretch of single track which requires some skill to ride but which rewards you with some fantastic views of the Howgills which will probably stop you in your track anyway! This then opens up onto Bluecaster side to allow you a faster decent back down towards the A685. A short detour here left along the road for 2 miles will afford you a very pleasant stop at the Cross Keys Inn with its fantastic views of Cautley Spout. But once refreshed it is off again back up the A685 a short way to join a bridleway on your left which takes you off onto some more single track which is uphill, woody and rocky in the early stretches, perfect for putting in a bit of effort ! A long stretch of track takes you up onto open fell with yet more spectacular views and a good chance to spot a few deer. You spend the next couple of miles crossing some over some rather wild bit of fell until you reach a farm at Adamthwaite and join a quiet lane which takes you around some hairpin bends and steep decents into Ravenstonedale. Another stop here is worthwhile as it has two pubs and a village shop so you will not be short of refreshment. Heading out from the village on one of the back lanes the cycling is gentle with plenty of good views of Wild Boar Fell. A bridleway along the lower edges of Ash fell brings you back to the A685 followed by a short stretch of fell track, formerly a roman road with a old packhorse bridge before reaching Street Farm again. Excellent route which, with a few stops, could take most of the day with a variety of terrain and superb views. Moderate to hard in places. Some bike pushing will be required.
