Stoneyard is one of three properties at Street Farm and offers very comfortable accommodation for 2/4 persons. When booked with our other two properties we can accommodate groups of up to 18. Situated midway between the lovely market towns of Sedbergh and Kirkby Stephen the area is very peaceful and a rare place where you can walk on the fells all day in almost complete seclusion.

Stoneyard is situated on the ground floor and adjoins Stoneview with direct access onto the courtyard and garden areas. It is very light with lovely views and a stylish interior which includes an oak wood floor and stone fireplace with a cosy wood burning stove.

Stoneyard Layout

Stoneyard has a large open plan kitchen / lounge and a double bedroom with an ensuite. The fully fitted oak kitchen is well planned and has everything you need to cook and includes an oven, hob, fridge, microwave, toaster and dishwasher. The dining table seats 4 persons. The lounge has a sofa, single chair and the lighting has been thoughtfully planned with a choice of ceiling, wall and table lamps. The TV has freeview with an integrated DVD system and we have a selection of DVD's in our map room. The ensuite has a power shower and towels are provided on arrival. Linen is included. Stoneyard has two entrances. One side of the property opens onto a lovely courtyard and the other side onto a small patio and garden area with tables and chairs. This has far reaching views across the vally which enjoys spectacular sunsets. Stoneyard can accommodate up to 4 guests when the sofabed is used. There is no extra charge for this. When Stoneyard is booked with our other two properties groups of up to 18 can be accommodated.

All our properties are wi-fi enabled. Travel cot and high chair available.

Horse Riding with Stonetrail

We run a small trekking centre and can arrange horse riding during your stay. We have a fabulous selection of bridleways leading directly from the farm. Please contact us if you would like more details or take a look at our riding website which has some great photos and more details. The riding is quite popular and as we are a small centre advance booking is essential.

Walking Routes and Mountain Bike Hire

We have mountain bikes for hire and endless walking routes straight from your door with a good choice for all abilities. There is an easy walk across the fields to our local village which has a shop and a pub and or if you fancy something a bit tougher you can hike straight up to the top of Wild Boar Fell. Our walking page has some route suggestions but please ask if you would like our advice, we are very experienced at the local terrain and love helping you plan your routes.

Local Attractions & Dining

The Eden Valley has a great choice of popular attractions for all ages. Children ( and gown ups ! ) love to visit the Ice Cream Parlour at Brough Castle and the Wensledale Creamery at Hawes ( made famous by Wallice & Gromit ). There are activity centres, historic houses and farmers markets and a calendar of country firs and events throughout the year. Dogs and Horses Welcome

Stoneyard is a good choice for dogs being on the ground floor. Own horses are also welcome with excellent holiday livery facilities.

Our online booking system is quite straighforward and allows you to check up to the minute availability and book direct with ourselves. If you prefer to speak in person before you book we welcome your call and can also make your booking for you.
