Stonetrail is a perfect venue for a large groups seeking weekend accommodation for small country style weddings, private celebrations and family and friends get togethers. We have 5 properties which have been beautifully converted from a range of stone barns which adjoin one another in a courtyard setting with fabulous views across the valley. The interiors have been designed to mix rustic charm and contemporary stylish interiors with open trusses, wood burning stoves and power showers.

Our accommodation is very popular with groups because of the flexible booking options and unique onsite facilities which have been designed to make organising your event as easy as possible. Groups can book as many properties as they need and make all the arrangements themselves for catering and activities using the contacts we provide on our website. This is the best way to design a great party or event at a price to suit your budget and we are always on hand to offer you as much help as you need with advice on dinner bookings, catering companies and local activity providers. We are very experienced at helping groups to plan their break and also offer an optional party / event planning service where we co-ordinate your bookings for you.

Stonewood, our largest house ( due to open Jan 2013 ) offers spacious entertaining spaces which includes seated dining for up to 32 or 50 buffet style. For smaller groups Stoneview offers seated dining for 12 - 16. Our three remaining smaller properties provide additional and independent living accommodation. When all 5 properties are hired together you accommodate 32 onsite and invite another 20 "day" guests for a total event capacity of 50 guests, perfect for small weddings and private functions.

Stonetrail is a family run independent cottage company and charges no extra booking fees. Booking is straightforward. You can reserve our properties online direct with ourselves for up to 7 days without making a deposit payment giving you time to check details with other members of your group. We require a 25% deposit to secure your booking and the final balance 6 weeks prior. Click here to view availability.

Keep it simple and enjoy a good walk to the pub for a long lunch with friends. We have three great pubs at varying distances surrounded by stunning scenery.

Go for a Bike Ride

You can hire our own mountain bikes and tackle one of our easy to follow route maps down to the village and back. Or you could hire a qualified Mountain Bike Instructor to provide skills training and a guiding service.

Visit our local Spa

Unwind with a glass of bubbly at the Eden Spa in Kirkby Stephen ( a 10 min drive ). The Spa is available for private hire from 5pm on Saturdays. This is a popular choice and the hire includes a hot tub, steam room and sauna. Included in the price for use during your visit are towels, spa slippers and complimentary toiletries. Take your own drinks.
